During a time when a farm needed a name, the Beattie family farm was affectionately titled, Corner Meadows. When you walk into Ashlee's grandmother's home, it is teaming with love and nostalgia spills out of every room. If only the walls could talk! Thankfully many family members were happy to share stories of the generations growing up at Corner Meadows. It was Ashlee's dream that their wedding take place at her family's farm. As she shared with me their story, I won't forget this quote, "I don't know if you've ever loved a land, but I love this land."
Ashlee and Randal didn't want to meet one another at the aisle or have a first look, they wanted to enjoy the whole day together. That meant getting ready together too. After Randal was all suited up, Ashlee walked in and whispered "he's so handsome". A few moments later as they busied on, he looked at her sitting on the bed, before her hair was done or her dress was on and said, "she's so beautiful". It was clear to me then that we were in for a great day. They are head over heels for one another! Of course the obligatory pre-game selfie was in order.
They were married in a small grove on the property where their family had planted trees through the years. Trees planted for special occasions and to remember key family members who have passed on. It was the perfect place to say their vows. Not a dry eye in the grove. I loved the addition of the "bird seed maiden" instead of a flower girl. Throwing seeds for the birds during the recessional!
All of the most important people gathered to celebrate after the ceremony; sharing stories, laughing and crying. It was truly an honour to witness such a tender union... a wedding that I won't forget anytime soon.
Congratulations Ashlee & Randal, wishing you a lifetime of new memories in your own home!
