I often get asked what kind of photographer I am. I go back and forth between whether I consider myself a wedding photographer or a portrait photographer. I think I've finally figured it out. I love weddings but I can't solely photograph weddings because I love, love stories. Love stories don't end on a wedding day, that's where they begin. This doesn't mean everyone has children. But for those who decide in love, to bring new life into the world, that's part of their love story.
I photographed Greer + Mike's beautiful and fun wedding on June 18th 2016. When Greer e-mailed me at 38.5 weeks pregnant, just a month ago, telling me she finally realized she wanted to document her pregnancy we had to act fast! That baby wasn't going to hold on for much longer. I showed up a few days later for the most natural in-home maternity session and she went into labour just two days later. The timing was so perfect, and so them seeing as I photographed their wedding just two months after they contacted me. I love how they fly by the seat of their pants!
When my now husband and I got together we were just glorified children. We were teenagers who spoke for the first time on a church youth retreat and have been together ever since. That was 20 years ago and he's still my best friend. We were married five years later, had our first baby five years after that. This is all just part of our love story.
What's your story?
