Before I had children, I was awkward around them. I found myself nervous speaking to them; I didn't know what to say or how to engage. Now that I have my own children and I am watching them grow, I find these little humans fascinating. But more than that, they are a breath of fresh air. Today when I am in a room full of people, it's the child's eye I catch first and feel the most comfortable around. They are the best parts of us. Untainted and still free.
One of the most rewarding parts of my job is watching a family grow. New babies are like human unicorns. They're beautiful, innocent, a blank slate if you will. Such a gift to be a parent and have the opportunity to encourage someone to grow. A small opportunity to make a big difference.
Congratulations to the Michienzi family on precious baby J!
